yes it hurts, all piercings do. although its definatly not as bad as some, jsut make sure you take care of it.

and it depends on wether you would like a ring or a labret stud, they'll let you choose.

I got mine done for 30 dollars

and i got it professionaly done.

Mine did not hurt at all.

They are gonna put a stud in and that's it.

Probably 16 gauge.

Price depends on the shop an your location.  It's $40 at the shop I go to and I'm in Charleston, SC.  It actually didn't hurt me at all...but it might hurt you.  I can't tell you that.  If you get it on the side of your lip, they will most likely pierce it with a captive bead ring, unless you tell them you want something different.
