the writing systems for the different chinese dialects are basically the same give or take a few exceptions. It's just that the way you pronounce them is different in each dialect. so it's not really correct to say that the symbols are in cantonese since they are just chinese characters and you can pronounce them in many different ways depending on the dialect you want.
