I have no idea what I am going to do for this interview. It is for Sears if it helps, and it is for being for a cashier. I mean I am under eighteen, so do I need to do something special? Do I need special papers for anything? I just read a bunch of online things things about what they might ask, so I got all of that down. Do I need to bring anything? They didn't ask me too. Should I bring like my birth certificate, or my social security papers, or anything like that? I am soooo nervous! If I get the job, it would b my first job. I know some people said I should give references, but I never had a job, and I know my teachers would really help me out, but I have none of their numbers. What should I do, what should I bring, what should I wear? Can anyone help? I want serious answers, don't give me random stupid stuff or I will report it. Thanks for all your help! Bye!

  1. My advice is to go to the store and look at what the employees are wearing.  Then, choose something one notch "nicer" to wear for your interview.  Make sure you have a photo ID and Social Security card with you.  Usually, they do not ask for documents during an interview, but if they offer you a job, you will need them.  You should prepare a short list of names of people who will vouch for you.  Teachers, good friends, neighbors, anybody who can tell them what a likable, good natured, hard working person you are.  Just names and numbers, and usually no more than 3 or 4.  Try your best to relax, don't forget to smile and be yourself.  If you are still nervous when you get there, just take a deep breath, and tell the interviewer how excited you are to be there.  You will not be the first person they have interviewed, and they have seen nervous people before.  Just be yourself, and you will do well.   Best of luck!!

  2. It sounds like you are freaking out a little bit.  I remember my first job interview, I was the same way.  Take a step back.

As far as something to bring, I would bring references, but before you use someone as a reference you have to ask them first, and then when you ask them and they agree you can get their phone number then. I would also bring a note pad just to take notes of stuff they tell you, this will be helpful for you incase you need to refer back to it and it will also let them know that you are serious about the job.

I would wear dresser pants like black or khakis and a shirt with a collar.  They will also probably ask you the typical intervivew questions like why should I hire you, what are your strengths what are your weaknesses.  So just pratice that before you go.

Most of all don't be nervous, I know that is easier said than done, but if you are nervous then you can't really be you and you want them to see who you really are.  Just keep in mind that if you don't get this one, there are many more opportunities out there!

    Good Luck!
