i have a 750watt amp 2 channel bridgeable lightning audio,and 2 10 inch sony xplode subs,4 ohms,375watts peak power,im getting 2 12 inch subs(pioneer)tomorrow,is it better to build my own enclosure,or get a dual box?

  1. It is best to have a box built that fits the manufacturer's recommendation for enclosure size.  Whether this is built by yourself or bought at a store doesn't matter as long as it fits these specs.  

    Sony subs often are built to work well in prefab enclosures.  So buying a prefab enclosure "may" not be a bad thing.  Just make sure the specs of it fit the specs recommended by Sony and you will be fine.  

    One thing that you may benefit from by building it yourself is it will probably be better quality.  Many prefab enclosures are made with cheap wood.  Using 3/4" MDF that you buy from Lowes/Home Depot will be better quality then most prefab enclosures.
