I need help with itunes !

i got an ipod nano generation 3 and it already has music on it and i got a new computer and i downloaded itunes on it and i put music on the itunes but when i plug my ipod in the computer it doesn't replace the songs on my ipod with the songs on my tunes. and i tried pressing sync a million times but it doesnt work. what should i do ?

  1. 1.  Is your iPod actually being recognized?  (I assume so since you're saying you're pressing sync, but just checking.)

    2.  When you plug in your iPod and look at it in iTunes, on the General tab on the left, do you have Manually Manage Music selected?  If that's the case, you might want to check Sync Only Checked Songs or at least uncheck the Manually Manage.

    3.  On the Music Tab, is Sync Music checked?  If not, check it off and then choose to Sync all or selected playlists (and make sure that your playlists actually contain music :)).  **This is the most likely cuprit as I've had iTunes make me physically check off that box to get any music to sync after getting a new iPod.
