I need help with my cat???

Question

i was playing with my cat a little while ago and i was freaked out when i saw a cut right above her sholder. its not horrible, matbe like a half inch circle. i told my mom that i was worried because she also has been eating alot.like 2 times the usial. and on top of all this she is old, 23 years old...and her fur is really bad, and we cant do anything about it. im begging my mom to get her checked out, because im worried, but she thinks its no big deal...is it something i should be worrie about, or is it nothing, and should i just forget about? please help me!!!

wow a 23 yrl old cat thats awesome! i would try to talk your mom into taking your cat to the vet. the cut could get infected and she could be in pain.

Take it to vet see if u can anything for it. If not then just wait it out & see what happens. - 23 years is a big feat & it should be proud

Your cat is 23 years old??? Wow... Keep and eye on the cut..it will probably heal on it's own.  If it starts to look worse, or your cat is in pain call the vet.

You should take some scissors and VERY carefully, trim the hair around the cut. This way, you can keep an eye on it and also keep air flow to it. Keeping it dry by clipping the air will help to keep it from getting infected.

I would keep an eye on it see if the cut scabs, you can wash off the spot to remove any dirt and place a dab of  antibiotic cream if our worried about infection, but i think she will be O.K.
