  1. A processor is the brain of the computer - it processes data. It's clock speed measures how many calculations it can do in a second. Most processors now measure clock speed in GHz (gigahertz), which is a billion hertz. However, some still go in MHz (megahertz), a million hertz. One hertz is one calculation per second. Processor cache is measured in KB (kilobytes - 1024 bytes), and MB (megabytes - 1024 kilobytes). Bus Speed for Intel is measured in MHz. The average bus speed for Intel desktop processors is 1066MHz, and the average for Intel Laptop processors is 800MHz. AMD use HyperTransport.

8 speed is probably to do with your DVD drive. The older DVD drives ran at 8x.

Video cards are graphics processing units. They process graphical data and then send it through to the monitor. VRAM is video memory. The average is 256/512MB. Avoid 128MB and crave for 1~2GB. You don't need to worry about core clock speeds and memory speeds unless you're seriously into overclocking and gaming performance, which I'm guessing you aren't. But GDDR3 is the average data rate, don't accept GDDR2, and look towards the GDDR4 and GDDR5 cards as the better ones.

  4. a processor is the computers brain, it processes the information to make it useful.

an 8 speed?? im not not sure what that is but maybe your thinking about a gimmick of an automatic transmission that the expensive e cars have.

a video card is a optional part of the computer that processes all video type information. the reason they have these video card sis because video information is very big and complex.. so having one takes a huge load off the cpu and makes your computer faster.
