  1. It depends on what kind of cancer she has (If it started somewhere else it is not brain cancer.), if she has had treatment yet, if this is the only metastatic site and if it and the primary tumor can be completely removed. Best wishes.

  2. Sorry to hear about your grandma. Surgery will help slow the disease process down. Your grandma will probably need chemotherapy and radiation therapy. You can be a tremendous help to your grandma and your family by keeping a positive attitude. It HURTS to see someone you love be sick, but you can help, even tho you're only 14. Try finding cartoons in the funny papers, find simple decorations for her hospital room, decorate a baseball cap for her. These are just a few ideas, I'm sure you have more. Best of luck to you and your family.

  3. The American Cancer Society should have some information to guide you.  They can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1.800.ACS.2345.  You can also visit www.cancer.org for information, tips and simply to know that others have been in this situation.  It's very comforting to know you are not alone.

Best of luck and many prayers to you and your family.  Cancer is not an easy battle but it IS a battle that can be won.

  4. I am very sorry for your sorrows.  I know this must be very hard and confusing for you.  With older people it's hard to tell because their bodies heal much slower.  She may be just fine after the tumor is removed.  But it's best to prepare yourself for the possibility that she may not make it through all this.  Brain cancer is a very hard thing to treat and even though she may have great doctors, there is only so much doctors can do.

The best thing you can do is pray, try to get some support from your family and give it to them too - just because you are young does not mean you can't help them too.  And tell your grandma you love her and you will be there for her.

    Good luck.  I'm sorry again.
