Question:

I need to start running again?

I am planning on joining The United States Marine Corps and i am in no shape to do that now so i need to start running again. I am starting tonight but im not sure whether to start with the requirement of 3 miles or start out smaller and work my way up, what should i do?

  1. id start with about half of that (1.5 miles) and whatever pace u want and work ur way up to get to where u need to be with that


  2. never start out to hard. take it easy at first then work your way up. if you start out to hard you could get injured. just take it easy and then every week make it harder.

  3. Semper Fi!  To begin with, try to see how long you can go, but take it easy.  After that just try to build up your stamina by doing reps of running/walking.  Try 6 min of running and 1 min of walking for about 28 minutes.  It won't matter at first how far you go, but that should put you right at or above 3 miles.  

    Also, boot camp will help get you in shape.  Remember though, there are more important things than running when you get there. Stay in shape, but take care of yourself and your brothers/sisters (including my brother).  Also remember that millions of people will be praying for you.  Good luck!
