I pod classic problem?

i have an ipod classic 80gb version and it was left in a dock for a long time and prob in the sun for part of the day. Now it just keeps loading the apple sign at the beginning no access to music on mac or normally have tried restoring it and resetting it. any ideas?

This actually happened to me yesterday. What I did is I restored it in disk mode. To get to disk mode, press and hold play and the center button while the apple sign is showing. It should turn off, then turn back on, then go to a white screen. From here, restore it, and it should do so, then it'll probably just go back to the apple thing. I had to restore it twice for it to show me the menus, and right now, I'm actually going through the process of adding 12gb worth of media back onto it. Hope this helps.
