and im taking acting classes now and its not with my school but my mom and sister keep telling me i should take acting at school and be in the play but i really dont like how people act in school plays. its different from how you see on tv and in movies you know? its very fake and its not how you would act in real life (if the situation was in real life haha) should i try out for the play anyway even though i really really dont like how the people act in the play or should i stick to doing auditions at the place where i take acting classes from? because most actors will say they were in their school plays but i dont want to do it so what are your opinions of what i should do?

  1. If you do a play, act how you would on tv or a movie......

  2. Well i love to act too, i think we maybe int he same boat to say the truth. I did go out for my school plays this year and i totally agree, but the problem with the school plays are most of the directors pick their favorites and you get stuck with lowish jobs in it, since i love movie acting a lot, a lot, lol but from experience you should go out but perhaps just for one a year or the drama/ comedy ones since it's nice to get experience from it. You will also learn new methods of acting and ways to calm yourself, it's good to get use to a crowd, so i say go out for the plays but if you don't continue to not like it then don't go out for them and just stick tot he auditions in the class, good luck i know you will be great.

  3. Be in as many plays as you can, because every play gives you an opportunity to learn something--like how to project your voice to the back of the auditorium (a skill you'll need if you ever get to Broadway).

  4. here is my opinion try it alright because your right people most people who are big time actors started with small things if you want to be on the screen you should most definitely because it will help your acting resume and also if its high school some agents come out and watch you and that's how people get noticed and end up with a agent definitely try it!

    good luck

  5. One thing is acting and the other is enter the show business to pay your bills. In the latter case, you will have to accept roles you dont like, compromises you dont want to make, and bear directors and colleagues you dont like. But if not, you can really choose and do whatever is nurturing to you. Stardom is one thing, performing is other. Best of luck.
