  1. If there are other people at your barn going to shows before your show, see if you and your horse can go with them. Spend some time riding your horse around the show grounds, and, if you can, ride up to the outside of the arena and watch the show from horseback. Also, try to get a chance to ride in the warm up area with the other horses.

Both you and your horse will benefit from being exposed to the environment when you don't actually have to show.

  2. Just work on your normal riding in your lessons etc.

When it comes closer to the show.. if its jumping, work on getting the correct lead over jumps, work on your lignes, sharp turns afterwards (if jumpers) etc. It really depends on what kind of show your doing- hunters, jumpers etc.

  3. i professionaly show and i just went to pony finals. if you e-mail me at horsegeek194@yahoo.com and tell me the size of your horse and what class you are doing. if you tell me how often you ride i can send you a whole schdule on how to prepare. goo luck!

  4. Just practice whatever you are going to be showing, and make it look pretty. Good luck! ♥
