I recently changed my fat

Question

i recently changed my fat 32 external drive to NTFS and while converting the external drive got disconnected because of a power failure in the house so now when i try to connect to the external drive it works for like 10 secounds then i get this error... "error because of a I/o error"or something close to that i cant remember what the error was.. i have tried running a disc check but it did not work nothing came up... any advice ???? please ???
