I stepped on a sewing needle

I was too surprised to see how deep, but it was sticking out of a chair. it was my sister`s. could it get infected?

  1. Probably not, but I would get a tetnis shot just in case. The hassle of going to the docters is alot better than the hassle of a nasty infection!


  2. yes, long thin puncture wounds are the most likely to get infected.

    have you had a tetanus shot lately?

    if not, you need to head to a doc or ER today and get one.

    No, you probably won't get infected, but you should put a bandaid on the wound ASAP

  5. yea i could clean it with alchohol and get a band aid the needle could be dirty

  6. Yes, It could get infected. Just make sure that you clean it really well with alcohol. I would keep it covered to make sure that it isn't exposed to a lot of bacteria. If it starts to look worse or gets sore, you should head to the doctor and have it checked out. Chances are though, if you keep it clean and covered...it will most likely just heal on its own without getting infected.
