  1. First of all, if you do have lice dont worry. They wont hurt you, they dont carry disease and they have nothing to do with being dirty. Everyone can get them...Everyone.

The bug doesnt usually stay around long after laying eggs. I have only seen "live bugs" a few times in checking 100's of heads. Look for black, see through or brownish "teardrop" shaped eggs on your head. Behind your ears, crown of your head or neck are the best places to check first.  If the "teardrop" DOESNT move easily, it is probably a "nit" If the thing in your hair is white and moves or falls out easily it is NOT lice. You might be itchy and have red "bites" on your scalp. I have had cases where the person has no itching too. If you see something, pluck that hair and inspect the spot. Does it fall off easily? It's not lice. Does it slide up and down the hair but doenst fall off? Could be a nit.

If you do have lice, you MUST shampoo and CLEAN everything. You should also pick all the nits out because the shampoo doesnt always kill the bugs in the nits.  Use a shampoo with Permetherin. It is TOXIC so follow directions. I wish that all of the "remedys" worked...like mayonaise, tea tree oil, etc. but they USUALLYdont. Wash all pillows, bedding, clothes, backpacks, hair brushes, hair do's etc. or replace them.  Spray your couches, cars, mattresses with the RID spray. Bag up all stuffed animals or anything you cant wash or toss for at least 4 weeks to kill the bugs. Good Luck. They are h**l and I really hope you dont have them!

  2. Constant  itching on your scalp.  And upon inspection, you'll find nits and lice on your head.

Head lice do not hop, jump or fly. They migrate through direct contact with an infested person and their belongings.

Pets do not transmit head lice, and poor personal hygiene does not cause an infestation. In fact, head lice prefer clean, healthy heads.

Head lice do not live in, nor spontaneously generate from, the dirt, trees or the air. They live on the human head

The most common symptom of a head lice infestation( pediculosis)  is persistent itching, particularly around the ears, back of the neck and crown, but some people never itch at all. Repeat infestations can cause some individuals to become super-sensitive to bites. Secondary bacterial infections can occur with excessive scratching. See a doctor if this occurs.

Diagnosis of head lice is usually made by finding nits (lice eggs). Nits are tiny, whitish, oval eggs firmly attached to one side of the hair shaft at an angle. Viable nits are usually, but not always, found within a half-inch of the scalp.

Hint - if you can blow or flick it off, or if it crumbles in your fingers, it is not a nit.

It's very contagious - transmits to another person's  head.  However, pets do not get them .

  3. UM...................

    -itchy head

    -white bits in the hair

-creepy crawlie looking things in the hair

IF YOU HAD LICE, WHENEVER YOU BRUSHED YOUR HAIR, YOU WOULD ACTUALLY SEE CREEPY BUGS ON IT, IM TELLING THE TRUTH.

whoops-sorry i didnt realise caps was on, im not shouting-honest-

however, if you do have lice, it can be sorted with a simple tea-tree oil shampoo-they hate the smell-

  4. if you hav a very bad itch and you might see brown and black egs or youll can find them hatched up.......and red bites on your head

    Ways to Treat it:

Lice hates the smell of tea-tree oil shampoo...put that on ....
