i am looking into getting a bird. I know about clipping the wings and how to tell if your bird i sick, and taking it to the vet, lifespan, diet, cage, handiling, and changing the cage. Is there anymore info i should know, before getting one?

  1. I have had three cockatiels in my family (one when I was a kid and a mating pair) and in my experience, the males that we had were pretty feisty.  Make sure that you socialize your bird a lot.  Pay a lot of attention to him or her.  In the long run, that will make you and your bird happy.  Good luck with your new cockatiel.

I should also point out that you need to get some toys for your bird to play with and some treats that the bird might like.

  2. The best information I can give you is to purchase a book so  you will know as much as you think you do. It sounds like you know all there is to know about them. A book can be put up on the shelf and forgotten. A bird has to be taken care of day after day for it's entire life.

  3. what kind of enviroment is good for them, what makes them scared, treats, tricks, toys .....i suggest getting a book on cockatiels so you can refer to that if you ever need any help...or the internet works too good luck :)
