  1. Research!

  2. You should probably just work on keeping the tortoises healthy and alive if they're your first tortoises. Then, if breeding occurs thats okay but it's definitely important to do a lot of research and really know how to care for tortoises BEFORE you try to breed them and have a bunch of eggs that you don't know what to do with. Search google for caresheets and read every single one you can

  3.    You have to study. they need the right diet and care, you should know that. when you are ready to breed, seperate them for a month, lower temps the week before, then put together an raise temp back.

  4. I've raised lizards of all kinds for years, but no turtles/tortoises. Having said that, the most important things to do when breeding lizards are 1: simulate their natural habitat as closely as possible and 2: leave them alone as much as possible. Don't keep them in populated rooms like the living room. I always used a whole separate "lizard room" for my lizards. I'm sure that tortoises have similar privacy needs when it comes to breeding

  5. do your research and wait for the tortoises to mature to an age where they can breed you really need to look into breeding as it is not as simple as putting a male and female together if the conditions are not right the female Can hold sperm for up to 3 years and won't lay eggs here are a couple of sites with information on breeding for you  http://russiantortoise.org/care_sheet.ht...     http://www.tortoisetrust.org/
