I wonder if we can learn?

wonder if we'll ever learn, that like our bodies, stretching out just isn't good for us. well, cities will have to get that too, or those running and building them. we can't expand any more or it will kill us. therefore, if we are to continue to grow and hopefully, learn, we will have to begin to enclose our cities to control the polution in our air, and most assuredly, since man will always grow, it must be upwards. the Japanese already have plans for such a development, as well as an enclosure for man's cities so that they are self sustaining.

can you see any other way for man to survive. he won't stop having babies and we won't be able to feed them soon, in north america, if we continue to let land developers get rich building cement jungles over our best farmland.

  1. There is an organization that is all about this perspective.

My mother is the director for smart growth in a rapidly growing city on northern Vancouver Island so I hear about it all the time.  She has a lot of good points, but it will be difficult to convince greedy developers of this!

  2. perhaps in generations not too far away.  this generation is too greedy and so not as ecologically conscious as we'd like to pretend to be.  alas, it may be too late by then.
