I would like to get mice?

Question

i want to get 2 femal mice for my b-day with MY b-day money, but my mum hates them and i have not told her yet about them.

so how should i tell her or convince her to let ME get them when my b-day comes around?

If i would you i would get info on them and then show her how good they are. And convince her that you will always look after them. I also read somewhere that male mice smell more then female.

personaly I would get rats.

but just tell ur mom that u wuld take care of them by urself.

and like feed them every day.

do research on them and show ur mom how great they r.

I hand-reared 4 orphaned baby mice a friend had tried to "save" from a reptile store without my parents knowing.  They were in the fuzzy stage, eyes not quite open, and with hard work and dedication, all 4 grew up healthy, happy and with no troubles at all...Actually, their were 5, but the runt was half the size of the others and unfortunately did not =( ...When they got to about 4-5 weeks I separated them, 3 males (one of which I later found out was actually female (pet store identification, not pregnancy)) and 1 female, whom I put in a plastic bin cage and old hamster cage respectively.

Well, one night at a sweet 16 I got a call from my sister that the female had escaped and my mom happened upon it...Surprisingly I didn't get in much trouble, and though I was told we would get rid of them in the morning, the next day I was told that I was allowed to keep them...The thing was, the males smelled horribly, so I ended up giving them away to a friend, though the females are still happily alive with me now, less than 5 feet away, one running on their wheel, the other eating some seed.

...Yes well, I don't highly recommend it, but if all else fails I suppose...Though what I would recommend is sitting her down, and firmly telling her how you'll be responsible, how they don't smell, how you'll clean/feed/water/etc them, and how they really do make great pets.  Also, try showing her some web sites and facts about them.

Well for starters, how about trying the following:

#1 Cleaning your room and making sure that it STAYS clean and tidy.

#2 Making sure that your homework is done and handed in on time.

#3 Sweep the floors in the living room and kitchen without your parents asking you to.

#4 Wash and/or dry the dishes.

#5 Do not fight and argue with your sisters & brothers.

#6 Eat what you are given and don't whine or make "yuck" faces when given it.

#7 Don't talk rudly to adults

#8 Always share with other kids.

#9 Go to bed when you are told to.

#10 Research the pet and breed you want to be 100% certain that it is the right one for you.

# 11 Ask them about getting this new pet in a nice way and don't beg and whine about it.

If 100% sure that if you give those a try, they will see that you are serious about wanting to add a this pet to your life and family. :)
