  2. Well....

    Technically, C# is an industry standard set up by the ISO committee.  However, when people refer to C#, they almost always mean the language as designed and created by Microsoft, including the .NET standard (i.e. C#.Net).  The reason for this is that currently, Microsoft is the only C# compiler on the market (to my knowledge).

    At this point in time, C# and C#.net are synonymous. However, since C# is now an ISO standard, they may diverge in the future.  (Particularly with new releases of .Net)

    Actually C# is a part of Microsoft.Net so some people call C#.Net and some calls C#..
