Icant get my over hand serve!!!!?

I need help with my overhand serve, i can throw it and hit it but i never get over the never and it always slopes downward and is on the ground before it can even get to the net! Help!

first of all try throwing the ball over the net if you can make i tover by throwing it over then you can hit it over. Second if you can serve very well underhand and can aim it at a particular place then do it. Also how old are you and how strong are you? if those don't work try spiking as hard as you can against the wall and as you get better aim higher as you move backwords.

Make sure that you throw the ball in front of the arm that you will be making contact with--if you have to cross your body then you won't make good contact, and it won't have the height that is needed to cross the net.  Also, be sure to throw the ball high enough, and make sure that you are hitting it high and a upwards by hitting the ball a little bit on the bottom (versus hitting it high and down or in the center if you were attacking.)  Finally, take your time so that you make a good toss and will have good contact with the ball, and point your foot in the direction of your target.  Good luck, and keep practicing!

Keep your arm straight, open your plam wide then hit it when the ball reach slightly above your ear level. Push the hand forward all the way even if you hitted the ball.

When I was starting to play volleyball I had the same problem. Make sure you are keeping your hand and wrist really stiff. Hold your hand out as stiff as you can make it, and make sure your wrist stays straight and rigid while you hit the ball with your palm.

I am a volleyball pro!(kinda) I serve overhand with my hand in a fist, if you do it's more powerful. If you do it with your hand opened, its a little thougher but its more professional.Make sure that the ball is not 2 high over your head when you throw it up, if it is it will eng up going over your head and behind you. Serve nice and hard aftwr a good aim and BOOM! It should go over that net and you'll be the hero of your team!

It just takes practice.  You will get it, just try to hit it up a little.

Make sure you throw it up in the air high enough and use only ur palm not ur fingers.
