Ice maker freezing up

Question

My ice maker has begun to freeze up and stops making ice. Looks like the water is freezing in the supply line and therefore not filling the tray. It is also starting to freeze things inside of frig. Have turned it down to 1.5 out of 9. Use to have it set at 4 or 5.I bought and installed a new ice maker. Thought it was cheaper than a service call. ($80) But same problem was evident immediately. Ice maker model is a IC6. Frig is about 12 yrs old.
