Iced tea recipe?

hi im from ireland and would like to know how to make iced tea. i like the bottled stuff but its too sweet. i tried making it at home by putting 2 tea bags into a 1.5 litre jug and filling with water from the kettle. when it cooled i put it in fridge for while and served in a glass with ice. it was rank.. can u give me a recipe for it.if it was possible then a sugar free 1 too. we may have different ingredients here but do have tea bags lemons and water.....plenty of them. thanks for your help. hope to hear from u soon.

Well, it sounds as if you did everything right with the tea bags. Were they old? Is it possible they were spoiled?

I actually have an ice tea maker which has been the best $30 I've ever spent, but I have no idea if you can get one there. So, here is an idea.

Take a clear pitcher or clear glass jars or whatever. Fill them up with water and put 10-12 tea bags per GALLON of water inside to soak. Set in the sun (yes even in the colder months) and allow to "sun brew" for at least a day. If it seems too strong when you taste it, add some water to a glass of it. I really hope that helps.
