  1. This is an issue with the appearance settings of Windows XP, and is relatively easy to fix. First, go to the control panel and double-click on "System". Click on the "Advanced" tab, and then click on the "Performance" button. There should be a list of performance options. Scroll down the list, and second to the bottom you should see an option that says "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop". Check it to enable it, then click "OK". Good luck!

  2. Rtk clk the desktop.

Clk the last menu item properties.....

at the top of the window that is opened......

    Display Properties...........

    The tab.........

    Apperance.................

Can this be changed back to windows default?

Can this be set to the way that you like.....

This sounds like a appearance problem, not a virus....

    I could be wrong.

Forgive the tech that worked on the machine before.

    We all make mistakes.
