Ideas for a party..?

I am planning a party in a reasonable budget..

I need ideas for a hawaii theme party..like for decoration,clothes,music,food etc..

Since you're on a budget, join a "Freecycle" group on Yahoo in your area. These groups, thru email, post things they are "Offering" - giving away or "Want" - need. Look for a Freecycle Group in your area & ask if anyone has any Hawaiin, Tropical, Luau party items that they'd like to give away. Many people buy this stuff, use it once & box it away never to be used again-you'd be surprised. Then, when you're done you could "Offer" it to anyone else who may need it :-)

Go to your local dollar store. You'll find grass skirts and some coconut bras. Find fancy straws. Maybe with cardboard draw a tiki and wrap it over cups to make things look better. Sometimes atmosphere make things better. Go for chicken and barbeque food. Try cocktails and fruity punches. If it's kid friendly it'll be easier. Try some luau music and if you can find some search on youtube or even some Spongebob backround sounds would be great.

Check the internet for a 'luao' (not sure of spelling) or type in Hawaii-it should give you some ideas or go to the martha stewart website for ideas.  She has info. on just about everything....my ideas are:  go to a dollar store and buy fun colourful necklaces (remember show 'Loveboat'?); cheap fun Hawaiin shirts from a Thrift store; real pineapples for table decorations.  Hope you have a great party!

palm branches, stuff from a rental store for a luau theme, oriental trading store they have a catalog but they are on-line too. pineapple based punch which can be "spiked" ask guests to wear Hawiian shirts. Don Ho for music or the beach boys. Hawaiian pizza , pork or seafood, lots of tropical fruit, chicken skewers with mango salsa, coconut themed desserts, macadamia nuts, some Asian influence like wasabi nuts or peas. peanut butter noodle salad with chicken. ( satay sauce) pineapple upside down cake

My friend just had a luau birthday party. She has a deck and a pool, the deck was covered in pink, green, blue, and orange lights it was really cool. She also put up flowers all over. We all wore our bathing suits and she gave us grass skirts. The music was from Lilo and Stich. We all had orange slushys to drink!! It was very cool!!
