Ideas for playing with my puppy?

Kobi-Wan Kenobi (he goes by Kobi) is 7 wks old and REALLY playful. He's only been here for a few days and he bites, barks wines, and humps(lol) So i wanted to find a few things i could do with him that would make him happy but without being to rough. Any ideas??

Games like hide and seek and fetch are great for bonding. Or tug-a-war. If you have a fenced in yard you can just run around with him. Don't forget mental exercise by doing at least 10 minutes (or as much as your puppy can handle) training twice a day at separate times.

I have a 2.8 pound teacup poodle who is 7 months and full of energy!! I get on the floor with him and roll around and pick him up and hold him close and get on all fours and growl and him and he pounces at me then i ruffle his head and he falls over then jumps back up again ready to get me or we go out to the yard and i look at him like "oh no" andi start running and he chases after me and if you get good enough you'll learn to change directions to keep him on his toes. there is so much you can do to play with a dog!! My 65 pound 6 year old lab usually gets himself involved to. Just ... be a dog! roll around and howl and snatch up toys and have fun!!

Teach your puppy some tricks. That is great fun and it helps exercise him both physically and mentally.

simple tricks: sit, down, speak, quiet, paw.

medium tricks: spin, play-dead, roll-over, dance.

more difficult tricks: play-bow, figure-8, shake, cover

Other games I play with my dogs include fetch, soccer, flirt pole, and water hose. I would only play tug if he follows strict tug rules. My dog gets really amped up when he plays tug, and he gets too rough; so I don't generally play that game with him.

Fetch is good; get him a ball and throw it and watch as he gleefully brings it back to you, and then give him a treat, and pet him, and say things like, "Good Boy! in a cheerful tone. Also, squeaky toys are very nice , and so are rawhide chews, because God knows he'll chew.All this is available at most grocery stores in the pet supply aisle.

He is a puppy and that's what puppies do. Just buy him lots of toys like chew toys, rope toys, squeaky toys, and tennis balls. Good Luck with your new puppy.

Fill a kong toy with peanut butter!  He'll go crazy for it.  Also, rawhide is great if your puppy's stomach can handle it.  It can be too rich for some.  

Penny (my basenji) and I go for walks, play with her squeaky carrot toy, she chews on her flavored nylabones, we play with the kittens (nicely, without biting them)... we chase the big cat through the house until the at finally gives up and plays...

We do all kinds of things.  

Just remember, a tired puppy is a happy, well behaved puppy.  Make that litle dog chase things til it drops!

It is part of being a puppy. He will grow out of some of doing that. Just buy alot of toys, squeeky ones and stuffed ones.
