Ideas on painting my car?

can someone tell me step by step what i need to do to paint my car and what grit sandpaper to use through out the steps.

I own a cab company, and I tried painting my own cabs to save money. From now on, I'm paying a professional to do it. It's a huge headache when you get runs or tiger stripes. Save up some money and let a pro do it. Good luck.

It would be nearly impossible to describe how to paint your car here. There are so many issues that can arise when prepping for a good paint job.

Two suggestions--

One would be to purchase a paint and repair book and read very carefully.  Experiment on several pieces of scrap metal to learn the techniques of sanding and painting before starting the actual paint work.

OR

Take a course at your local community college or trade school in Paint and Body repair.  Believe me its worth the time and effort, Plus, you will feel proud to be able to tell everyone you done your own work.
