can i install central air? please help

  1. Do you have ductwork?  If so you should be able to.


  2. Yes,  a central air system can be installed whether you have

    steam radiators, baseboard, or hot air.

    If you have hot air, it will be cheaper because you can utilize the existing ductwork.

    The contractor will change the thermostat (or add a heating/cooling sub-base) to your origional one.

    This allows one thermostat to serve both, as two seperate thermostats could make both systems fight each other.

  3. Sure you can. If you have a forced air system, you already have the duct work. If not then you will need to install ducts and returns.

    If natural gas is available in your area, why not upgrade to a new complete high efficiency system. Oil is going to go a lot higher than gas that means payback will be sooner.
