If I want to start acting..

I've been in my schools play, but I wanna do something a little bigger.. Does anyone know where I can audition for something big and exciting?

I am an actor and I have a family of actors (sister Life with Derek) (brother Degrassi) And My agent is amazing, she is Canada , but she is going to the States soon

i think that if you looked online and searched it in your area it would give you a list of possible acting auditions maybe you can start out like modeling or join a acting group at your local rec center if you put your mind to it and you try your hardest it will get you somewhere, just go with it full firce, maybe yo can try to get a director to come to your school when you have a play and watch you, like a audition in a full play form, there are many options out there!, i think that you would be a very good actress even though i was NEVER INVITED to any of your plays. lol  Good Luck Gurliee! and remember when you get reallly big who yor friends are. lol cuz i would want an autograph!! lol jk jk..... call me.

I was in the same place as you last year. I went to a local theater in a city not too far from where I live. I was really nervous to audition, and I didn't expect to get in because I was younger than what they wanted.

I finally get up the courage to audition and made it in. I was the youngest person but they liked me so much they knew they couldn't give the part to anyone else.

Take a lot of opportunities like that. Audition for as many as you can even if you don't think you'll make it in. You'll either gain experience or beat the odds.

It was def. exciting. We performed in front of thousands of people in the three weeks that it was showing.

That is the "mechanics" of the business, not the actual performing experience that will make you into acting. Acting is something broader... I would recommend first to be an actor, then afterwards look for a place to perform and start the "mechanics"... Imagine that finally someone calls you after doing all that stuff and you are not really prepared to perform... Just pursue it, perform, perform in any possible play to get seen by as many people possible... You also have to identify a style that you want. A person, group, or company that really make you think "I want to do that". Find a way to practice with their technique (and i said practice, besides study). Practice is finally what will get you on stage in a solid way. Make yourself clear if you want either a JOB or an artistic activity that will make you happy. Being notorious is not necessary being talented, or, even worse, it will make you compromise many ethical things that you might not like to do or act in plays that you dont really like. The commercial circuit not always cross roads with the pure artistic lane, so you have to be focused in what you deeply wish. Get you family support as well. Best of luck
