  1. I like Jr. because when I met him at Micheal Jackson's place he was wearing a g-string and pasties. He just looked so yummie! It brought the house down when he and Kyle Busch started muggin' it up. I'm too s**y for my shirt, too s**y for my shirt. I'm too s**y. But seriously folks. When Sr. died I became a Harvick fan because he was driving Dale's cars. I was already a Jr. fan but he wasn't my favorite. I still like Happy and can't remember when or why Jr. became my #1 for the life of me, but he is. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. As for why others like him, all of the above but most of all, who cares? Usually questions like this are posted just to prove a point and I ain't getting sucked into that black hole.

  2. he is a likable person, plus all  his dads fans like him too, i personally like him cuz i feel he is down to earth when he talks and he doesnt beat around the bush and he tells you what he feels, and he doesnt talk trash or look down on anyone or hate on anyone, he is pretty much a all around good person who people can connect to

  3. i think part of his popularity is due to the fact that he is one of the few southern racers in a sport that was born in the south that is still a factor in nascar brings him many fans. that with the fact that he is his fathers son, and he is down to earth, make him a fan favorite.

  4. i agree, he isn't the best but far above average. I pulled for his dad but I also pulled for him when he was tearin' it up in the Busch series. I was excited to see him join the big leagues and win some races and when Sr. died I just started rooting for Jr. He'll win some championships, heck, first year with the new team and he's already sittin in third(season is still young) but thats impressive. But to answer the question on a simple note..Jr. is very "down to earth", even with all the money and popularity it doesnt seem to go to the guys head and you gotta respect that. He just seems easily approachable..

  5. You don't have to be the best for people to like you.  A perfect example:  Britney Spears.  : )

EDIT:  I'll never leave Britney alone!  lol

  6. He is good but you shouldn't like drivers because they're good. That's called being a badwagon or whatever it's called. Jr. is popular for many reasons

    1. he's likable.

    2. he's an earnhardt

    3. he is a good driver to root for because he is just average so your not over the top and ALWAYS satisfied.

  7. I am not a fan but I will give him props He is a down to earth guy who doesnt blame everyone else  He races clean and he is a great spokesman but  I think its the name How many kerry Earnhardt fans are there?

  8. You don't have to be the best at ANYTHING to gain a fan base. It only takes one right move to get some people to notice you, and Jr. has made people notice him. I follow Mark Martin, and the poor guy has never won a NASCAR championship, but he still has a very loyal fan base. Joe Nemechek has a fan base, Robby Gordon, etc. etc.

  9. He is kind of the Mr. Bean of racing.

Kinda goofy, kinda harmless, kinda the everyman.

I kinda just like the guy.

  10. his dad obvoiusly has alot to do with it...but hes a great person as well...lets not forget he is leading the hendrick stables....

  11. It's simple he's real. What you see is what you get!!

  12. That is it "he is average"  I like him because he races his heart out, he races clean, he is the first to admit when he messed up, and he is Dale Sr.'s son.  You know all the drivers race their 110% week in and week out but I like Jr. because he is humble and awesome at the same time.

  13. As with anything life is a popularity contest.Every generation has a drive come along that sparks intrest in fans. For their style on or off the track.

Junior is a playboy off the track and a hero on the track. So fans see him as the superstar to unseat his own father.

But this could be said for other drivers as well, but Junior came along when the crop of drivers were in the 40's so the younger fans took a liking to him and thus his popularity grew to the point it is today.

  14. In my opion no one could answer this question any better than Steffy did! Great answer Steffy you are right on!!!

  15. Because he's a nice guy and because many feel sorry for him because of his father.

  16. Bandwagon fans for the most part, inherited from his father. He's a nice guy, sure, so is Mark Martin and each one has their share of devoted fans. I think also like Mark, Junior will never win a championship but will always be held in high esteem by his true fans. I think Rowdy has inherited the Sr. fans who "loved to hate" Sr. He will win more races and more championships, but will still be hated for reckless driving just as Dale Sr was. Dale Jr on the other hand will always be the new Mark Martin, a good clean racer people respect.

  17. man, i'm glad to see so many good answers instead of the normal trash talk.

junior, for all his wealth and popularity, is still the "everyman."  he seems like (i don't know him personally, and i won't pretend that i do by saying "he is"...) a down-to-earth guy.  he carries himself well, both on and off the track.  he loves what he does, and he does it well - there's no doubt the guy has talent.  he may not be "the bestest ever" but he's d@mn good.

that's why i like him, and although i can't read other people's minds, i'm pretty sure that's why a lot of others like him as well, be they members of "junior nation" or not.

ps. lynn and smack, how dare you pick on britney!!! chris crocker was right... "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!!"

  18. To me he is popular because of his last name & he does have a lot of pressure from the fans to do well & so far, it's been 73 races since his last win.  He is a nice guy but so are so many other drivers in NASCAR.  He gets to much attention for someone who isn't the the best or even one of the best drivers in NASCAR today

  19. He is extremely talented and he will be a Champion time and again.  He is not average he is above that.  Your question read....He is the best NASCAR driver EVER"  that is not true...yet!  His fan base is so big because a lot of us have watched him grow up, watched him grow into a competitor, watched him win!   We watched him win races, loose races  and win the Bush championships then we watched his father get killed, we all mourned for Senior but we felt Juniors heart shatter and we watched him come back.  I have been watching the Earnhardt's for so long now I feel like part of the team.

Junior is a stand up guy, he is decent, hard working, loyal, humble, shy, he has integrity & class.  He races pretty clean and dosen't normally trash talk anyone.  He is a good guy and that attracts hords of folks.

  20. He did get an instant fan base of people who felt bad for him when his dad died. Earnhardt fans were stunned when Dale died and many now cheer on his son.

  21. Some are fans he inherited from his dad, but mostly, he's a likable, down to earth kind of guy.  Some nation members are purely fanatic and unwilling to acknowledge that he's a good, but not great driver, and constantly make excuses or point the finger at another driver to explain his long absence from the winner's circle.

  22. Because he is an Earnhardt. That is the biggest name in NASCAR like Petty and Allison. I am an Earnhardt fan all around. I grew up watching Dale Sr. When he passed I, just went on to cheering his son. Jr raced like Sr in the Bush Series, and  I enjoyed  watching him. Jr is starting to get that fire back in his eyes and he will once again start winning. the guy is hungry.

  23. You don't have to like the best driver, everyone has an opinion, h**l, I'm a McMurray fan, and he Isn't lighting the series on fire right now, is he?

I like Jr. because he doesn't try to pin a blame on someone else when a wreck is his fault, nor does he call other drivers No-driving idiots when they wreck him.
