If a cat has worms ?

and is sick from them what are the signs except for them in his poo and if we dossed ohim an hour ago when will he start to get better?and when will the tablets start to work?

they should work by the next time he goes to the bathroom. Depending on the kind of worms he had, you should see them come out of him. Make sure you treated them for all worms. Strongid t doesn't cover tapeworms so you need special tape worm medicine and vise versa.

they should work within the first week I'm guessing. i started treating my cats 2 days ago, and they seem to bee doing pretty good. Rosita's diarrhea  stopped and no longer there are little worms coming out of her but....

Make sure you also treat her for the fleas cuz thats the main reason the get worms!

You don't know how to tell if he has worms, but you already treated him for worms?

Please take him and a stool sample to a vet.  The vet will be able to tell you what, if any, worms he has and will treat them.  All worms are not the same and they require different treatments. You also need to tell the vet what you gave the cat already.  The over the counter stuff can be toxic.  

edit - great!  sorry.  there are so many people who like to play vet themselves that I get worried.

Apart from a swollen belly, seeing the worms and fatigue, I don't know what signs there are.  It seems like the vet should have given you information along with the tablets to say how fast they work.  I assume it would differ based on what they are. If it was Praziquantel (for tapeworms) then it should work within a couple days, but it can be tough to get the cat to take them so it may take a bit longer if there are a lot of misses. I don't know about how fast other wormers work.
