If i bought the iphone?

if i went to apple inc. and bought the new iphone, can i use it with no sim card and still have all its features with no data/phone plan sim card installed. I want to buy the iphone but not have a monthly bill. I want a ipod touch with a camera and the iphone is ideal but has restrictions. and only works with ATT. Anyone know when the ipod touch will have a camera?

ok. here is how to do it : go to ebay and buy an unlocked jail break phone!!

that way you can have any plan you want!

1) The iPhone 3G requires a two year contract to get the $199 price.

2) The iPhone 3G requires in-store activation.

3) So no.

4) Unknown. It can be anytime considering no other PDA or music player has a camera on it.

And it seems Apple doesn't care too much for the iPod Touch anyway (though I dunno).

It is my understanding that Apple will not be selling the new iphones themselves.  You have to buy them from AT&T with a 2 year contract.

As to your question, no I do not know about the camera.

But for the price, I'd rather just get the iphone than an ipod.  you get more, less to carry.

I don't believe you can buy the phones from a store without the contract

and if you could you aren't going to get it at the 199 price tag that is a discounted price for new contract and upgrade subscribers
