Question:

If i throw the slider....?

Im nearly 16 and use the slider as my outpitch, i never feel any pain when i throw it and throw it 2-3 times for every 25 pitches. Does this mean that the growth plate in my arm is closed? will i stop gaining velocity?

  1. I throw the slider more often than you and I also feel no pain. I'm only 16 so I'm not much older than you. My doctor said I am probably done growing, but he also said it is hard to tell so you will have to wait and see. As far as velocity goes, there are a few ways to increase it. Long toss will help over time if you do it enough. Build muscle mass in your legs. The legs are the most important piece of your delivery. Master your mechanics as well. I don't know if you already reached your maximum velocity so these are just tips that would help you reach that. I try to do all of those because I only throw sixty. =/
