  1. I generate my own lesson plans and have to turn them in every week to the principal (Christian school teacher).

  2. We use the state curriculum to plan lessons that support the curriculum.  In math, however, we use Saxon math and those lessons are created for us to use.

  3. We have a curriculum guide, which tells us what order to teach what lessons, but we have to create our own lesson plans for everything.

  4. I'm a former teacher, and I was responsible for creating my own lesson plans, though I had to follow the curriculum for the most part.

  5. The state dept of education mandates what you are to teach, when to teach it and what to use and how to do it.

This is so the students will memorize the information you GIVE them (not TEACH them) so they can make better scores on the state tests so the school can

    GET MORE MONEY

  6. You have to make your own lesson plans to teach the curriculum somebody else decided for you.  This is not nearly as important is being a great People Pleaser.

  7. The state and school district (and federal government, too- thanks to NCLB) will provide you with certain requirements that must be covered. In Florida, we have something called Sunshine State Standards. Those are basic objectives that are covered by our state assessment test. The teacher is responsible for creating their own lesson plans based upon the standards provided.

  8. Definitely create my own.
