hello all. im here for answers, opinions and advises. hope u guys can help me solve my problems and curiosity. i just started working out at home. using calisthenics, bodyweight training,. i just need to know, if u guys are familiar with diamond pushups, not the regular pushups, diamond pushups. 6 sets of 20 diamond pushups, with less than 60 seconds rest between sets, is it for beginners or for advanced athletes? i need to know first before i end up hurting myself. 6 sets of 20 diamond pushups with 60 seconds or possibly less rest between sets. is it for beginners or advanced athletes? hope u can give your opinions. thanks.

  1. I would say that it is improbable that you are going to “end up hurting” yourself unless there is a medical reason that you should not be doing push-ups. While diamond push-ups are more difficult than the standard push-ups, there is not really any increased risk to your health.

    As for the beginner or advanced athlete question, it really depends on what you call advanced. I know of a lot of very advanced runners and basketball players who cannot do that. It all comes down to if you can do a program like that and finish it without losing your form. Most people start out mixing in as many of these as they can and increasing as they feel comfortable. Besides, it is almost always better to do variations in style and numbers if you want development.
