Im takeing Paxil . ?

Im taking Paxil I hear that is a Half Life what does that mean and How well Paxil Make me feel?? Does it go into My Bran?? Or head?? and Have any of you took it??

Paxil made me gain weight and I would feel like I could literally drop over and fall asleep at any time. I would fall asleep after lunch (approx. 12:30)

and sleep thru kids coming home from school until husband came home from work. (approx. 6:30) Then sleep all night! Didn't care about anything!!!

Paxil is not itself a "half-life."  Half-Life is actually characteristic that a drug has.  Half-life is how long it takes for half of the drug to be absorbed or to be active in the body.  With Paxil the half life is about 24-36 hrs.  Paxil absolutely goes into your brain.  It acts on a neurotransmitter in the brain called serotonin.  It stops serotonin from being destroyed so fast.  serotonin is of the neurotransmitters thought to be responsible for depression and anxiety.  So the more serotonin you have, the better you feel.  That is the conventional thought.
