  1. you can only transmit a signal down coax  you need fibre optic to do what you want

  2. I am just guessing here... I believe you want to take image from let's say DVD player or computer and send it through coax TV cable to be viewed by others... Probably in the same house...

Well.. It's no easy task I'll tell you... First of all I must tell you that broadcasting (because that's what you do) needs licensing and all sorts of comercial permits that can vary from one country to another.

Basically, you need a TV transmitter. The transmitter converts raw image from the video and audio outlet of your device (DVD, VHS, computer, etc.) to a radio modulated signal of a certain frequency that can be received by a TV set.

This is highly expensive equipment, usually available to licensed stations only.

On the other hand, if you wish to broadcast from one source to a single TV, you can purchase relatively inexpensive low range transmitters that will help you do that without cable. But only on a one to one basis.

Broadcasting... is a whole lot of a different matter. Google "Cable TV station equipment" and you'll see...

If what you need is taking signal from a video camera (or multiple video cameras) and view them on a monitor or record them on a computer system, that is a video surveillance system and you can purchase that and get it installed rather easy. Price ranges vary depending on number of cameras, complexity of system, etc. but getting one is quite easy... There are special multiple input video boards and special software for monitoring and recording multiple signals on a computer disk or a DVD.

    Good luck!
