Immigration, N 400 help.?

I live in Phoenix Arizona, and about 8 months ago I mailed my N 400 for naturalization. It is still pending and has Phoenix address. I might have to leave to New York to open a small business with my brother in law. That means I have to rent an apartment in New York, and live there for a while. My home in Phoenix is still my main residence and Phoenix is my home town. It is like someone who supports his family from abroad, or like someone who has a summer home and a winter home in two different states. Does this have any effect on my application? Do I have to contact USCIS? Can I have 2 residences? I am not going to do mail forwarding, but I am going to be getting mail at my new address in New York. Do I even have to tell them about my new business in New York? If I switch my license to New York driver’s license, does this mean my application is going to be moved to New York? This business is a great opportunity for me and my family , and I can’t miss it. I appreciate your time .

  1. i would say that shouldnt affect your application, since it wouldnt deal much with immigration, and you would still have that phoenix address and technically still live there but you might want to give them a call tomake sure. It is better safe than sorry....

my sister did have to restart her whole process because her mail reached her neighbor instead of her and she missed her interview...

  2. I agree with Keisha..you already have your greencard, so you have the rights to do whatever you want in the u.s.... as long as you keep your arizona's address, keep up to date with your mail in arizona and fly back  to arizona for your us citizenship interview, you will be fine...

btw, my dad also waited about 8 months before getting his interview date...(he submitted the application before the July 2007 fee increase deadline)...you should be getting your interview date soon!  good luck!

  3. The simple answer is no. As long as you maintain your Phoenix home you are fine. However it means you will have to go back to Arizona for your interview and swearing in ceremony.
