Important Women?

Question

I am working on a project for a college course that is to focus on one woman that has had a significant impact on park and resource management and/or conservation. I am having trouble finding someone that is not already a topic for someone else in the class. Can anyone help me out with some ideas? I just need a few names to get on the right track.

Without knowing who else has been named, we're sort of shooting in the dark here.  

Two that come to mind are:

Rachel Carson - author of silent spring

Julia Butterfly Hill - famous tree-sitter

Also, there are many women involved in land management and conservation in developing nations.  A quick web search on "woman environmental conservation" turned up several websites that might lead somewhere.
