helo all. just a simple question here. hope u can give me your best. i cant get access to benchpress so i do weighted pushups instead. i weight 170lbs/77kg and i do pushups with a 120lbs/55kg person standing on my shoulder blades. so the whole 55kg weight is on me. i can do 12 pushups in a row with 120lbs/55kg person standing on my back. all the way up all the way down. and i think, when doing pushups, i push about 99lbs/45kg of my 170lbs/77kg bodyweight. is it? combined with 120lbs/55kg person standing on my shoulder blades, its the total of 219lbs/99kg. for 12 reps weighted pushups in a row. if it correlates to bench press, is it pretty much the same? can u please estimate and explain to me? and what do u think of this achievement for someone who weights 170lbs/77kg. stands at 5'11. hope u can help. thanks.

  1. hey, i understand that not having access to proper equipment can be hard sumtimes, does the weight ur pushin relate to a bench press, no, reason? well wn ur using a bench press your not actually just using your cheast but other muscles to stabalise the press. my guess is that if you can bench your body weight on a bench then that means your strong ecause it means your functionally strong, i weight 95KG and bench 110 6 reps so im always tryin to improve because the stonger you are for ur size and weight the better, means u ca compete with the best.

    keep workin hard n try get a bench if you can, but if your desperatly tryin to put weight on, do the main 3 compound exercises which r key in rugby. bench press, squats and deadlifts.
