  1. hey! i usually run a lot before class and get really pumped up..even if its a ballet class..it might be boring at  the beginning but get really warmed up and push your body as far as you can..the teacher will give you lots of great corrections and use them in your dancing.once your all hyped up from barre you'll be really warmed up and trust me .the more warmed up you are .the higher you jump...whenever i'm in class i stand next to the tallest person in the class..even if its a guy..and try to jump higher than them...it makes you try 10 times harder!!

  2. Plie is everything for jumping. Take a deep plie before you execute a jump...that will help tremendously. Put all of your energy into the jumps as well. Theres no sitting in your hips for this.

  3. Do squats and things like that. i also just jumped alot! The more i jumped, the higher I went. Also, if you are talking about actually jumping (like a granjate, sp?), work on your flexibility. Do leg stretches and things like that because the more flexible you are, the easier it is to jump. Hope this helps.

  4. just keep jumping and pushing yourself. I used to do parkour and its very hard to just start and jump high, have like a minute long session where you jump forward, jump to turn and jump back to where you started from, it helped me alot but you really have to push yourself, you'll know you've pushed yourself when you wake up and your legs are in bits.

  5. There are three things that really get you off the ground

the most important one is to plea' im not sure if thats how you spell it but the deeper the plea' the higher the leap

you should also try to build up some muscle cuz the more muscle the easier it is to do anything

and sometimes momentum help you push yourself up, but you can't always rely on the momentum because some teachers might not give you a big prep to get you going

    good luck!!! =)

  6. Plie really helps jumping, except that you can't stay in it too long or else, it just gets harder to jump.  So when you get down into your plie, then jump up as soon as you get as far down as you can go.  Also, if you have to go slowly into your plie, then take longer to go as far down as you can go so you can get spring.  I hope this helped, because it always helps me when I am jumping!

  7. 1) Workout specifically for your legs (thighs). Find a gym and use the machines for your legs. Do squats and lunges on a regular basis.

    2) Practice daily your plie. You need to get it to be very deep before you can use it for a good jump.

    3) Practice your jumps outside of class. You have to work twice as hard to get to where normal girls are for jumping skills.

    4) Stretch a lot, specifically in your hamstrings, muscles in your thighs, and your Achilles tendons. The more flexible you are, the easier it may become (on top of your workouts).

    Hope that helps!

  8. what you should do is stretch more to stretch out your joints and do squats to improve on your leg strength and also practice alot andstart running more!

  9. work out ur limps...do squats and exercises like that...make sure ur toes are pointed and wen u are in the air.."lift"... make urself feel tall... straighten ur back and stuff....everything should be "perfectly" aligned (from toes, to legs, belly button, neck, and head) and dun juss jump...leap or "fly"...feel graceful...  believe u can do it... =]
