Inand out of overdrive?

a friend i pool with uses his o.d frequently as we go down a level hiway..i mean as we slow down he goes out and as we speed up he puts back in ..i mean like every light or stop sign..is this neccesary?you'd think he was driving a standard and gearing down as we were stopping

Just leave it in overdrive all the time, better gas mileage.

at highway speeds o/d helps with gas milage.

in town run out of o/d for power
