Indefinate leave to remain?

I have been in uk for 7 years .I have indefinate leave to remain and soon i will apply for the british citinzinship. at moment i could not work for months because i do not hold a valid work permit or new visa. I contact home office several times by mail and they said my file is being reviewed. It is very difficult as i cant do anything and its taking so long to give me my work permit. could u please help ,any advice,website . I dont know what 2 do .

  1. dont catch me by the word but i think that if you have an indefinate leave to remain you can work even if its expired when it is expired it only means that you canot enter or exit the uk.

  2. If you have ILR that means you are without the restrctions of a visa. Go and see the local CAB if you can not afford a solicitor
