Indian women!?

Question

My friend just got married in India and within the first 2 weeks caught his wife stealing money from his mother's purse. They got into a fight and he said he will get a divorce.

The woman lodged a complaint to the police that my friend and his mother were harrassing her for dowry, which isn't true.

My friend is out on bail, but he claims that in India all the laws are in favor of women, what should he do?

Your friend behaved in a very disgusting manner. what if he saw her stealing money...did he ask her why she did so?? maybe she needed it for something, and when your friend reacted in this idiotic way, might've got infuriated. and what do you know? maybe they are harassing her in some way... after all a husband who doesnt trust his wife and gets into a fight for such a stupid reason might as well slap or taunt his wife for not getting enough dowry.and that my friend, is a way of harassing. alright? so you better get your facts clear, and dont put your nose into some1 else's affairs.

and dont worry, indian women are not bad, infact they are an extremely strong, and supporive lot. they never retort back until provoked to do so, which, i think, has happened in your friend's case.

This is unfortunate. In India women are no doubt seriously exploited. That's why very strict laws have been put in. However, there are grave misuse of the laws. Your friend is one among those who are the victims of strict anti-dowry law. There is no respite because even the police and courts are helpless. the only way is to keep patience and consult good legal counselor. A compromise may also be useful but it will depend on what charges have been registered by police again your friend because so many charges in Indian Penal Code are non-compoundable (compromise can not call for termination of the case).

Ur friend is completely wrong.....some Indian women r like that but not all.....Indian women r deprived of most of the rights.....
