Question:

Infection above my eyelid..?

Hi everyone, I have a little sore on my eyelid ( like inside my eye )

its like a little bump. It's kind of irritating on my eye. I had this before and got prescribed medication. It was likely from my contact lenses. I have it again, I'm using eyedrops but I was wondering what this little bump inside on top of my eye lid is called?

Thanks.

  1. It sounds like a stye also known as a chalazion or hordeolum.

A stye is a clogged/infected oil gland. The best way to get rid of one is to use warm compresses on it as frequently as possible. Think of it like heating wax, it liquifies when heated, which can help it break up and dissolve. There are several methods people use for the warm compresses but my favorite is to wet a washcloth, roll it in a ball, and microwave for a short time. As the outer layers cool, you can unwrap the washcloth and use the warmer inner layers. It stays warm longer than most methods I've tried. Do several times a day.

If the stye does not resolve with warm compresses, you may need medication or it could even require a small surgery.
