Question:

Inflatable boat question?

I just purchased a 12 foot Baltik inflatable. From any of you who have air deck inflatables (not RIB), how does the bottom hold up when getting into shallow shorelines with trees, and branches possibly scraping the bottom? Any horror stories, hopefully not. Heres the link to the inflatable. I realize this isn't a mercury, avon, zodiac, or achilles, so all of you with fiber glass or nicer inflatables please be friendly. Thanks.

  1. You won't want to snag a branch, but they're fairly hardy. We rammed ours into a mangrove swamp at a place called Tencatita Mex. trying to tow surf down the river there (several times), without a puncture.

Good idea is to get some drop wheels for the stern that way you don't have to drag it.

  2. Alex the only problem we ever had with our air deck is if you smoke don't drop it because it will burn a hole and like any other inflatable they don't like rocks, glass or any other sharps. Just make sure the floor is pumped up real hard other wise it makes it difficult to walk in. Hey enjoy your new boat and don't be concerned what others may say, and who thinks they better than the rest of us poor souls who have to walk the face of earth. Just go and have a good time.

                     Sincerely yours,

                                             fellow inflatable Buddy.
