Information about Fort Worth, Texas?

Question

I live in Aurora, Colorado, and I have recently learned that I will be moving to Fort Worth, Texas in a couple of months. I was wondering if anyone could just give me some info on Forth Worth. If you have ever lived there, or if you know a lot about it, is there anything you could tell me about Fort Worth that I might need or want to know before moving there?

Downtown is quite safe, much more so than most downtowns in any other similarly-sized city. Ft. Worth has history, art, culture and is a great place to live. Plus, Texas has no state income tax.

A more blue-collar, down-to-earth city than Dallas.  Has some variation in neighborhoods.  Several very good museums (Kimball, Amon Carter etc.) and the Stockyards, home to Billy Bob's Texas, "the world's largest honky tonk".  Interesting downtown.

It's really laid-back and gets really hot during the winter and mild during the winter. There's not much to do around here, except the typical movie theaters, shopping areas, etc. The people are really friendly, and the food is outstanding(especially Mexican). Other than that, it's just like any other city. The plus side to it is that it's cheap and you can get a pretty decent sized house for a reasonable price. Taxes are somewhat high, but it's still affordable. Compared to major cities up north (idk how colorado really is) it's not a bad place to raise a family, or even if you're single. Dallas downtown isn't too far and has a good night life so that's fun to check out now and then. Fort Worth downtown isn't too great, and it's not the safest either. But if you're just living in a normal suburb like area, it's pretty safe.
