Information about herbs and herbal remedies:?

I'm new to herb gardening and would like to find some free sources for information. I've tried a few herb books and find that most leave plenty to be desired.

I also know that there are plenty of free herb charts to be found, but finding them isn't always easy.

I would appreciate any links or suggestions.
