Information about projector?

I am looking to buy a projector for my home. I would like know which is the best projector for home threatre in india, also it should be economical.

please suggest.

There is no one projector anyone can recommend. They are all unique in terms of specific advantages and disadvantages.

I suggest looking at the reviews and recommended models at the two sites at the links. Then, find out which are available locally. The database at the first link allows you to search for distributors worldwide ... so it may help.

Note that there are three basic classes of home theatre projector, based on resolution. Using US prices they fall out as follows:

- 480p --- under $1000

- 720p --- $1000 and up

- 1080p -- $2000 and up

As a starting point you would be best to try to define your preferences/needs. For example, price, size of room and viewing location/distance, degree of light control (e.g. dark, dim, some windows).

Use the viewing distance calculaltor at the 3rd link to figure out the best screen size and then start finding projectors that support the result.

Note the first link has a "calculator" available that will show the range of viewing distances for a specific screen size ... and the effect on brightness. Very handy to make sure the projector will work under your proposed conditions.
