Insufficient funds?

what are insufficent funds,and will a bank refuse to cash a check if your under chex systems?

Insufficient funds simply means that the account on which the check is written does not have enough funds to cover the check amount.  If it is a check to you that you are trying to cash, then whoever wrote you the check needs to put more money into their account to allow you to cash the check.  If it is a check you wrote, you'd better fund your account or you might get a bounced check and a fee.

The swell looking gentleman or fancy lady who wrote you the check ain't got enough money in his a/c to pay that sum. They probably gave you that check to shut you up for a while.

Better ask them what the heck is going on and not to be wise guys or you will plug them  full of lead.  And tell them not to give you any back chat, see?

Insufficient funds means that there is not enough money in the account to cash the check. It sounds to me like someone wrote you a check, and you have gone to their bank to cash that check (this is a big assumption)...and the persona at the bank told you that there are "insufficient funds". this means that you are holding a bad check and that the person that wrote it to you doesn't have enough money in their account to cover the check. You can go back every few days and ask them "are there sufficient funds in this account?" and they will either say yes and cash it, or they will say no, and send you away. If YOU are under chex system, they will still cash the check...

insufficient funds are say you only have $3.21 in your account and you want to take out like $20 from an ATM you can't cuz you have insufficient funds or you actually have a negative bank account like -$3.21!  No, the bank will not refuse you if you have a negative balance.

If you do go to a check cashing place they take a percentage of your check so it's best to stay away from them.  Wal-mart cashes checks for only $3!  But don't worry your bank will NOT refuse you...they will actually be glad to cash it so you can get back up to a positive balance.
